Mobile Classroom Initiative Launched in Monterrey

The city of Monterrey will implement a mobile classroom to bring education to those who wish to start or complete their studies in the city. This project is part of a broader initiative that aims to bring benefits to citizens, such as gyms, community centers, and libraries. The mobile classroom, a bus with a capacity for 16 students equipped with air conditioning, laptops, and a teacher's room, will be very useful for those who do not have the resources to travel to educational institutions.

The Secretary of Human Development and Substantive Equality, Karina Barrón, emphasized the importance of this initiative to combat educational lag in Monterrey. In collaboration with the Traxíon Foundation, the city government will take the mobile classroom to different points in the city, facilitating access to education for those in vulnerable situations.

Barrón stressed that it is essential to bring education closer to people in their own environments, whether at their homes or workplaces, to achieve effective action against educational lag. The mobile unit will be present in companies and maquilas to provide support to those wishing to complete their studies.

The Government of Monterrey has also signed an agreement with the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA) to educate residents of Monterrey who have not completed their basic education. As part of this commitment, 128 individuals, including municipal workers, have graduated, completing their primary and secondary education through INEA. Additionally, the municipality will be responsible for promoting the institute's services and supporting potential candidates to obtain their primary or secondary certificates.
