PAN Leaders in Nuevo León Call to Maintain Alliance with PRI Against MC

In Mexico, in the state of Nuevo León, former Governor Fernando Canales and coordinator of deputies Carlos de la Fuente have spoken out in favor of maintaining the alliance between the center-right National Action Party (PAN) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) at the local level. They stated that this is necessary to achieve a common goal: to remove the National Regeneration Movement (MC) from power in the Monterrey city hall, which they accuse of corruption and poor governance. Despite the national split between PAN and PRI, the party leaders in Nuevo León believe their collaboration in 2024 was successful. They emphasized that the final decision on the future alliance will be made by the national party committees, but local leaders, including Monterrey Mayor Adrián de la Garza, are considered as potential coalition candidates.
