Senator Díaz Announces Councilor's Integration into Morena Faction in Monterrey

Senator Judith Díaz announced the integration of councilor Antonio Chávez Contreras, known as 'Uncle Toño', into the Morena faction in the Monterrey city council. The event, held in the presence of Escobedo Mayor Andrés Mijes and other councilors, showed unity between the senator and the mayor, who have joined forces ahead of next year's internal poll. Chávez Contreras, a friend of many years, expressed his support for the Morena project, which he described as being about inclusion, coming together, and working for Monterrey. He also stated his belief in the 'Northern Fourth Transformation' project led by Mijes and in the senator's work of being close to the people. Mayor Mijes, for his part, emphasized the importance of strengthening Morena and Monterrey, pledging to give it his all. Senator Díaz announced that she would soon strengthen her presence in the capital and, together with allied councilors, inaugurate a management house in Monterrey. She also added that she and Mijes are working to be closer to the people. It was previously reported that after issues with their initial groups, both gubernatorial candidates will merge their structures to improve their positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
