Polls Show MC Movement's Advantage in Nuevo León Political Race

Latest polls indicate the Citizen Movement (MC) leads over other political forces, including MORENA. MC candidates hold a five-point advantage. Analysis shows MC's growing appeal to the 4T electorate, complicating the opposition's position. The ruling coalition remains optimistic for the 2027 elections.

Polls Show MC Movement's Advantage in Nuevo León Political Race

According to the latest polls, the Citizen Movement (MC) is currently holding an advantage over other political forces, whether with candidate Mariana Rodríguez or Senator Luis Donaldo Colosio. According to these surveys, both profiles have an advantage of about five points over the mayor of Monterrey, Adrián De la Garza. The prevailing analysis is that voters will endorse MORENA, and MC has managed to capture a significant portion of the 4T's electoral base, which would also explain the marginal role of that movement in the polls. At this time, only Tatiana Clouthier emerges as a competitive profile. As things stand, the sum of the MC vote with the MORENA vote would give the state ruling party, for the moment, an advantage over the anti-MORENA vote represented by the PRI and PAN. The picture drawn by the polls does not resolve other issues, such as Rodríguez's reluctance to run again or the resentment generated in the governor's circle for supporting Colosio. But the data that is most celebrated at the Palace of Cantera is that of being in a position to compete, something that a year ago seemed more complicated. These perceptions play in favor of Dante Delgado's line, who attended the last Government Report in Nuevo León and lobbied strongly to avoid any alliance with the PAN, a fact now confirmed by the polls. It should be said: Colosio's candidacy is not entirely unacceptable to the hard core of the Executive, but they assure that they are still awaiting confirmation from the senator, who also has plans to run in 2030. Of course, MORENA's situation is the most complicated because, according to those close to the governor, it no longer only has candidates with limited electoral reach, but the brand itself is beginning to show signs of erosion, which translates into a rapprochement with MC. The state Executive is ending the year with optimism regarding the electoral contest leading up to 2027.
