Nuevo León Launches Academic Hub for Knowledge and Innovation Sharing

Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda, launched the Hub NL de Educación Superior: Conocimiento, Innovación y Vinculación project. Its goal is to share knowledge, infrastructure, and innovation, positioning the state as an international academic hub. Under the agreement, students from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), and Universidad Regiomontana will be able to exchange professors and courses to pursue postgraduate studies. The initiative will start with engineering programs, most in-demand in the local industry, and will later expand to social sciences, law, and medicine. "This is the start, and as always, Nuevo León is setting an example. We will expand this great program whose goal is to share knowledge, infrastructure, and innovation," the governor added. The universities are already creating agreements where all students will share infrastructure, classrooms, and professors, which is why it is called micro-credentials. "Remember that for our degrees and postgraduate studies, we must earn credentials that the SEP then adds up to grant us the title," he explained.
