Nuevo León Inaugurates First Specialized Court for No-Fault Divorces

The government of Nuevo León state has inaugurated the state's first specialized court for no-fault divorces. The purpose of this initiative is to expedite the resolution of such cases, decongest family courts, and reduce the workload on judges. The specialized court will be headed by Judge Héctor Alonso Gómez Escamilla. As has been corroborated by the experience of other states in the country, specialization in divorce matters is an effective tool to improve judicial efficiency, strengthen access to justice, and provide more technical, uniform, and user-oriented care. The specialized court is located on the 6th floor of the Val-Rent building, at Escobedo 519 sur, Centro Monterrey. This will allow for more efficient and dignified proceedings, guaranteeing access to justice without requiring a cause to file for divorce, in accordance with current legislation, offering a faster, more accessible, and sensitive approach for people seeking to end their marriage through this means. 'Today we present a project that is born from listening to the reality of families, understanding their needs, and assuming with responsibility our constitutional duty: to guarantee justice that is close, humane, and efficient,' it was explained. This procedure is one of the ways a marriage can be terminated, and to file for it, there is no need to explain or demonstrate a reason; the will of either party is sufficient.
