Talks with Congress are progressing, and it is expected that once the budget issue is resolved, the State will participate without problems in the necessary studies for the Loma Larga Tunnel. These studies include geological analysis, material strength tests, and topography, and it is estimated they will cost around 10 million pesos.
The College of Engineers and UANL have already submitted proposals to carry out these studies, but it is pending to define who will cover the costs. Hernán Villarreal, Secretary of Mobility and Urban Planning of the state government, pointed out the importance of obtaining authorization from the Congress of Nuevo León to dispose of the necessary funds.
Due to the resource constraints facing the State, it is expected that both Congress and municipalities will provide their support to overcome this situation. Villarreal emphasized the urgency of conducting the studies to determine a definitive solution to the partial collapse that occurred in September at the Loma Larga Tunnel.
The studies are expected to take between two and three months to complete, after which a clearer action plan can be defined. Although preliminary studies, drone flights, and some probing have already been conducted, it is considered crucial to carry out a detailed analysis to address the issues effectively.
