Construction of Bridge with Escalators in Puebla

The government of Puebla plans to build a bridge with escalators between Cúmulo de Virgo and the Vía Atlixcayotl to facilitate the transit of students and workers in the area. Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier communicated in a press conference that the main objective of this project is to expedite the movement of students from BUAP, Tec de Monterrey, and workers who transit daily through this route.

In this regard, the governor expressed his interest in collaborating with both universities to carry out the project. It will be assessed whether the construction of the bridge and escalators will be done jointly or if it will be the exclusive responsibility of the state government. It is important to remember that, with the recent rehabilitation of the Vía Atlixcayotl, pedestrian access in the area has been hindered by the elimination of at-grade crossings as part of the construction works of the road distributors.

The construction of the overpass on Vía Atlixcayotl, at the height of Cúmulo de Virgo, also resulted in the relocation of the bike path.

In the words of Governor Armenta Mier: 'This project will be of great benefit for the student community and workers in the area, contributing to improving mobility and safety on the road.' The construction of the bridge with escalators aims to alleviate the mobility difficulties that have arisen after the recent road modifications in the area.
