Puebla's gastronomy is back in the spotlight with the arrival of the Cemita Festival 2026, one of the most anticipated events of the year, which will bring together flavor, tradition, and culture in the heart of the city. The eighth edition of this culinary event will take place from May 1st to 5th at Parque del Carmen, just a few steps from the Historic Center of Puebla, with completely free admission. For five days, locals and tourists will be able to enjoy this iconic dish from approximately 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM in a family-friendly atmosphere filled with cultural and artistic activities. One of the main attractions will be the extensive gastronomic offering: more than 65 varieties of cemitas, ranging from the classic versions with milanesa, quesillo, and pápalo, to innovative proposals with uncommon ingredients like chapulines or even crocodile meat. This dish, considered one of the culinary icons of the state, stands out for its crispy sesame seed bread and its combination of fresh ingredients that have made it a symbol of Pueblan identity. The festival will not just be about food. This edition will feature over 40 exhibitors and the presence of 30 invited countries, who will offer an international showcase of cuisine. Additionally, there will be nearly 50 hours of activities, including live music, dances, workshops, and shows for the whole family, making it a comprehensive event that combines tradition and entertainment.
