In Angelópolis Island, Puebla, the first viral beating of 2025 has been reported, involving security guards attacking customers at a nightclub in the area. The situation escalated when two customers were assaulted by the guards after claiming that a cellphone had been stolen inside the establishment.
A young woman used social media to report that her father and brother were victims of a brutal beating at the hands of the guards from the nightclub in question. According to her account, the family returned to the location to demand the return of the allegedly stolen phone.
The incident occurred around 00:45 hours on Saturday, February 1, when the victims decided to confront the guards. In a video shared on social media, at least 10 guards can be seen attacking the customers, pushing and hitting them before dragging them out onto the street.
One of the guards, identified by wearing a navy blue suit, delivered multiple kicks to the young woman's father, targeting his head and back, even while he was already on the ground unable to defend himself. The assault resulted in the father being hospitalized with broken ribs and other serious injuries.
The affected young woman stated that she will take legal action against the assailants. In addition, she expressed her concern about the growing insecurity at the establishment, indicating that it is becoming increasingly dangerous for customers. This situation adds to a series of similar assaults reported at nightclubs in Puebla during 2024, mostly directed at students who, after seeking entertainment, ended up being victims of assaults when reporting thefts or other incidents.
