The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) announced the availability of 271 positions for specialist paramedics in the state of Puebla, as part of a national recruitment process that includes a total of 8,869 vacancies. The announcement was made by the general director of IMSS, Zoé Robledo Aburto, during a morning conference led by President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Robledo detailed that the hiring process will take place through the "draft," a mechanism that allows specialists to see the available offers throughout the country and choose a position directly within the IMSS system. The vacancies are divided into 70 specialties, with the most in demand being Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine.
Among the specialties with the least supply are Allergy in Pediatric Clinical Immunology, Pediatric Pulmonology, Nuclear Medicine, Pediatric Endocrinology, and Reproductive Biology, with a limited number of positions available. Gerónimo Lara Gálvez, coordinator in Puebla of the IMSS-Wellbeing Health Services, reported that during 2024 an additional 420 specialists were hired in the metropolitan area, bringing the total to 1,781 specialists in general hospitals.
The call to participate in this recruitment process requires interested parties to enter the official IMSS portal and upload the necessary documentation for their application.
