Two Mountaineers Missing in Puebla Mountains

Two mountaineers are missing, one on Iztaccíhuatl and the other in Malinche, prompting search efforts by specialized teams and family members. The first, Erick Ricardo García García, 30 years old, went missing on Iztaccíhuatl after falling into a ravine during an expedition with a group of hikers. He managed to send his GPS location before losing communication, thus facilitating the immediate start of the search by various rescue teams, with no positive results so far. His clothing at the time of disappearance is specified as a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and beige boots.

On the other hand, in Malinche, Francisco Javier Mateos, 61 years old, was last seen on March 14. Following the filing of a report to the authorities of Puebla and Tlaxcala, the Malinche National Park was temporarily closed to facilitate his search. Despite the efforts, neither mountaineer has been found so far, prompting a call to the public for information that could help in their location, by contacting local emergency services or calling 911.

In the case of Francisco Javier Mateos, according to his last message via WhatsApp to his family, he was near the summit of Malinche and planned to descend via the Pilares route in Huamantla. It is worth noting that he is an experienced mountaineer, carrying a support pole and a black and red backpack with the inscription 'IBERO' at the time of his disappearance.
