Marilyn Cote Faces Legal Action for Fraudulent Practices

Lawyer Marilyn Cote has five days to prove the authenticity of her licenses and titles as a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, or she will face administrative and legal sanctions. This was stated by Araceli Córdoba Soria, Secretary of Health, at a press conference on Monday, November 11. Clear warnings about possible fines and 36-hour arrest were issued if Cote does not present the required documentation.

In response to alleged fraudulent practices, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks and the Depris have already suspended the activities of Marilyn Cote's office, where she offered services without the necessary permits. To date, no document has been presented to support her authorization to practice.

The suspension of the "Neuropsychology Clinic: Marilyn Cote" office in Angelópolis Medical Towers was announced by Cofepris on November 7. The lack of health license and medical certification required to prescribe controlled substances were some of the serious irregularities that led to this measure.

In light of the situation, Marilyn Cote deleted her social media profiles, removing her name from both her website and the Facebook and Instagram platforms. So far, she has not issued any statement regarding the accusations against her.
