Governor Alejandro Armenta directed harsh criticism at the company Agua de Puebla for the poor drinking water service it provides to citizens. Armenta expressed his anger at the complaints from the population that have led the state and municipal government to provide support with water trucks. Despite the general dissatisfaction, Armenta acknowledged the complexity of revoking the concession due to an unfavorable contract signed during Rafael Moreno Valle's administration.
The governor ruled out the cancellation of the concession but emphasized that his administration will expose the company's ineptitude and demand improvements in water supply. Armenta pointed to Agua de Puebla as an example of corruption present in previous governments, comparing it to cases like the International Museum of Baroque Art (MIB). He emphasized that his administration will not pay compensations for terminating contracts and will not tolerate companies that prioritize profit over the provision of public services.
The governor urged Agua de Puebla to rectify and address users' complaints, warning them of revoking their concession if they do not improve. He also highlighted the importance of companies seeking legitimate benefits for the development of Puebla, in contrast to those with extractive practices. Armenta stated that his priority is to rectify past mismanagement characterized by corruption, promising that companies seeking looting will be expelled from the state while he is in office. He stressed the need to put an end to the inherited situation and the determination of his government to highlight incompetence rather than pay compensations.
