According to the head of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), Vice Admiral Francisco Sánchez González, the criminal group known as "La Barredora" would be implicated in the murder of two municipal police officers in the Del Valle neighborhood, in Puebla. The bodies of the officers were found in that neighborhood, following an armed attack reported at 00:40 hours on March 1, when they were in patrol GG-001 of the Guardian Group.
After receiving the report of the attack, the SSP contacted the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC), Fernando Rosales Solís, to coordinate efforts and reinforce intelligence operations regarding the case. Various lines of investigation are being followed concerning the execution of officers Jesús Popoca Gutiérrez and Alejandro Osorio Santellán, who participated in a significant seizure not long ago.
The Vice Admiral mentioned that the criminal organization "La Barredora" disseminated a video on social media threatening the lives of three police chiefs, which led to the removal of these officials from their positions for security reasons. One of the hypotheses being considered is that the attack could be related to the recent arrest of a suspected criminal leader in which the deceased officers were involved.
Additionally, it has been considered that the fire that occurred in a convenience store may have been a "distraction" used by the criminal gang to facilitate their escape in the Bosques de San Sebastián area.
