
The governor of Puebla, Alejandro Armenta, reported on the actions taken in coordination with the Prosecutor's Offices and other states to combat insecurity. This includes the recovery of 297 stolen vehicles and the expansion of plans towards Tlaxcala and Veracruz.
Following the recent assassination of two municipal police officers and acts of violence in the capital, the state government and the City Council of Puebla reaffirmed their commitment to combating insecurity. The municipal president, José Chedraui Budib, emphasized the importance of improving citizen security and supporting the families of the deceased police officers.
Chedraui mentioned that the deficiencies in the Municipal Police stem from previous administrations and that his government is seeking fundamental solutions. He assured that he is working to improve the conditions of the corporation and strengthen security in the city.
The mayor confirmed the continuity of Fernando Rosales Solís at the head of the Secretary of Citizen Security, denying rumors about his potential resignation. On the other hand, Armenta expressed his support for the mayor in strengthening security in the capital.
Regarding the response to the presence of organized crime groups in the region, the governor indicated that the state government acts firmly to address the issues, highlighting record numbers of arrests and seizures in the fight against crime.
From December 14 to February 16, the authorities achieved the detention of 586 individuals, the seizure of 133 vehicles (including 35 related to hydrocarbons), the confiscation of more than 6,700 liters of gasoline and 31,700 liters of gas, as well as one thousand doses of crystal and one thousand cartridges.
