Coordinator Accuses PAN of Campaign Against Cablebús

The state cabinet coordinator, José Luis García Parra, affirmed that the campaign against the Cablebús project does not come from citizens, but from PAN militants who, he assured, would seek to compete for popularly elected positions in 2027. During the state government's press conference held in Atlixco, the official accused those who present as dissenters of being part of a political strategy based on disinformation. “Those who claim to be citizens, some will be candidates next year; that's why they are in their strategy of lying to the population,” he stated. In this context, García Parra informed that the final ruling on the Cablebús will be presented on April 13, a project that already has significant adjustments to reduce its environmental and urban impact. He announced that the system will be reduced from 96 to 87 towers along its more than 14-kilometer route, with the goal of achieving the least possible intervention in the tree cover. Likewise, he assured that there will be no impact on Cerro de Amalucan, one of the points that has generated concern among residents. The official explained that the final technical study of the route was received on March 31 and is currently being compiled for its public presentation. The Cablebús will connect different areas of the Puebla capital, such as Angelópolis, Plaza Dorada, the Historic Center, Xonaca, Bosques de San Sebastián, and Amalucan, with a projected benefit for 45 colonies and more than 2.5 million inhabitants. Regarding Cerro de Amalucan, García Parra reiterated that there will be no direct intervention, as the works will be limited to areas destined for complementary infrastructure, such as parking lots and adjacent properties. Finally, he assured that the system will operate under conditions of safety and efficiency, with an estimated frequency of cabins passing every 30 seconds.
