The future of the cable car in the Los Fuertes area will be subject to a public consultation. This was announced by the Cabinet Coordinator, José Luis García, who pointed out that among the proposals is the possibility of transforming the infrastructure into a restaurant with a panoramic viewpoint. In an interview, the official recalled that reactivating or relocating this attraction, inherited from the Rafael Moreno Valle administration, requires an investment of over 50 million pesos. Therefore, the state executive seeks for the citizens of Puebla to participate in the decision-making process regarding the project's feasibility.
Maintenance prior to the Puebla Fair With the Puebla Fair 2026 approaching, García reported that preventive maintenance and exterior painting work will be carried out on both towers. However, he clarified that the definition of the comprehensive project will be determined after the public engagement process. «Getting it running in the same place or dismantling and moving it to another point to be a tourist attraction... there is an option for the towers to become a space with a panoramic view and a glass floor», he explained.
Concession and possible locations Another avenue being analyzed is the concession of the space to private individuals for the development of a high-rise restaurant. In this regard, the coordinator mentioned that the Secretary of Tourism already has four relocation options in different areas of the state. It is expected that the final decision will be made in the coming months, with the goal of having the works or adaptations completed by the end of the current year.
