Querétaro Strengthens Economic Ties Amid Trade Tensions

Querétaro is recognized as an economically solid entity that has experienced significant growth in the last two decades. This strategic position allows the region to explore business opportunities with countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

The president of Coparmex Querétaro, Beatriz Hernández, praised Mexican diplomacy amid trade tensions, highlighting the importance of the participation of economic sectors from the United States to preserve mutual competitiveness. She also called for strengthening Mexican companies and promoting new schemes for internal market development, following the example of Querétaro.

On the other hand, the president of Canacope, Eduardo Chávez Hidalgo, valued the cooperation between the Mexican government and the business sector to face the "tariff war" and achieve beneficial results for both nations. He highlighted the solidarity shown by entrepreneurs and citizens in the face of tariff imposition.

Following the announcement of a pause in tariff imposition by President Claudia Sheinbaum, the local commercial and industrial sector applauded the work of the federal government. Lorena Muñoz Altamira, president of the National Chamber of Commerce, acknowledged the efforts of Mexican authorities and emphasized the crucial role of the private initiative in business and trade exchanges.

Muñoz Altamira emphasized the need to redirect efforts towards other markets, such as those in Latin America, Europe, and Asia, which demand products and services similar to those offered in the United States, particularly in the metalworking and food sectors. She supported the negotiations led by Sheinbaum and stressed the importance of fulfilling the agreements reached. Furthermore, she highlighted the unity demonstrated by all sectors, beyond ideological differences, in defense of Mexican interests in adverse situations such as the tariff war.
