The governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri, received President Claudia Sheinbaum in the state, expressing his commitment to support her with the Mexico Plan and other projects. He highlighted the investments from Amazon and Viva Aerobus in Querétaro, with a new investment of more than 4 billion pesos from Viva Aerobus that will generate 2,000 direct jobs. Kuri pointed out that Querétaro exports 15 billion dollars to the United States.
For her part, Sheinbaum led her morning conference from Querétaro as part of the commemorations for the Day of the Mexican Constitution. Speaking about the Dos Bocas refinery, she acknowledged that it has a problem that prevents it from operating at maximum capacity due to the salinization of the crude oil. Sheinbaum mentioned that when the refinery operates at its maximum capacity, Mexico will stop exporting oil, dedicating it all to domestic consumption.
The president also announced that construction of the Mexico-Querétaro train is expected to begin in April, an important part of the current plans in Querétaro. It is anticipated that construction will take between two and three years, with an extension of 225 kilometers and speeds of up to 160 km/h. Basic engineering and environmental impact works have already begun to advance this faster and safer passenger transport project.
