The Coordinator of Informatics at the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), Edgar Ignacio García Avilés, emphasized the need for greater protection of personal and business information due to the use and evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this regard, he recommended strengthening cybersecurity by adopting practices such as using encrypted passwords of at least 20 characters that include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, avoiding dates or family names to prevent information theft.
García Avilés highlighted the importance of not using the same encoding for everything and avoiding generic passwords like "admin" or "superuser." He also noted that the Autonomous University of Querétaro participates in the University Corporation for Internet Development (CUDI), which identifies weak password combinations in various institutions, such as "admin," "RUT," or "superuser."
In addition to passwords, the use of passkeys or digital pins instead of conventional passwords was recommended to ensure a more secure login. García Avilés also stressed the importance of regularly reviewing current keys and using tools like "How secure is my password" to assess the strength of passwords in use.
