Criminal Leaders Arrested in Querétaro

Vicente Gerardo Telefor, alias "La Garza", leader of "Los Ardillos", was arrested in Querétaro. Authorities also arrested two accomplices and seized weapons and drugs during the operation.

In a coordinated operation by the security cabinet in Guerrero, the detention of Vicente Gerardo Telefor, alias "La Garza," leader of the criminal group "Los Ardillos" in the state was achieved. The operation involved various institutions such as the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, SEDENA, SEMAR, the National Guard, and the FGR.

Vicente Gerardo Telefor, alias "La Garza," 42 years old, was arrested in Santiago de Querétaro, Querétaro. He is identified as the plaza chief of "Los Ardillos" in Tecoanapa and has participated in violent acts in Guerrero, with presence in Ayutla de los Libres and San Marcos. He is a former coordinator of the Union of Peoples and Organizations of the State of Guerrero (UPOEG) and has been involved in recent criminal activities.

He is linked to serious crimes such as homicide, deprivation of liberty, sale of firearms, extortion, vehicle theft, and drug trafficking. The leader of "Los Ardillos" ordered an armed attack against his rivals, "Los Carrillo," in addition to threatening to burn police stations in Ayutla de los Libres. He is also attributed with organizing a confrontation between locals and authorities, as well as an armed aggression in Las Arboledas.

During the operation in which "La Garza" was detained, Kevin Said Chávez Herrera, 23 years old, and Julio César Sánchez Mendoza, 22 years old, were also captured. Two handguns, two packages of cocaine with images of squirrels, and a red vehicle were found at the site. Inter-institutional collaboration was essential to carry out these detentions for the benefit of security in the region.
