Official sources confirmed that a black van exploded suddenly while traveling on the Mexico-Pachuca highway, in the Tecámac area, State of Mexico. Inside the burned vehicle were two men who died as a result of the blast. One of them was identified as Francisco Beltran, alias 'El Payín', and the driver as Humberto Raquel 'N'. Both are from Sinaloa. In the initial investigations, the Attorney General's Office for the State of Mexico ruled out that it was a car bomb. The first indications indicate that these individuals were carrying the explosive inside the vehicle when the explosion occurred, but the investigation has not yet established what type of explosive caused the incident. For now, there are also no indications that the explosive was thrown at them from another vehicle or that it had been placed beforehand. After the explosion, the unit lost control, swerved into oncoming lanes, and finally crashed at the other end of the highway, causing no further injuries.
