Arrests for Kidnapping and Murder in Nayarit

Three people have been arrested in Tepic, Nayarit, for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a family traveling from Culiacán to Tepic. The detainees face multiple charges related to organized crime.


Arrests for Kidnapping and Murder in Nayarit

The Attorney General's Office of the State of Nayarit confirmed the detention of three individuals allegedly related to the kidnapping, theft, and murder of a family traveling from Culiacán, Sinaloa, to Tepic. The victims, two men and one woman, disappeared on January 8 in the northern area of the state.

In an official statement, the office informed that arrest warrants were executed against José Luis “N” and Raúl Manuel “N” for crimes such as robbery, assault, organized crime in gang modality, aggravated kidnapping, and disappearance of persons. Additionally, Sebastián de Jesús “N” was arrested for allegedly concealing the same crimes.

During the recount of events, the Attorney General of Nayarit revealed that the detainees had a banking terminal with which they collected payments from their victims via electronic transactions. It is suspected that they were engaged in vehicle theft and exploited violence at the borders between Sinaloa and Nayarit to commit crimes, being investigated along with another individual identified as Luis Daniel “N”.

The three detainees were presented before the Control Judge in Tepic to determine their legal situation. The victims, identified as Laura Elena “N”, her husband Roel “N”, and her nephew Manuel “N”, were found in a clandestine grave in the locality of Pescadero, municipality of Rosa Morada, Nayarit. They communicated for the last time from La Concha after requesting a deposit of 40,000 pesos for repairs on their vehicle.

After losing contact, the family reported their disappearance on January 9. The Attorney General's Office managed to locate two stolen vehicles, including the Toyota Camry in which the victims were traveling, as well as the grave where three bodies were genetically identified as members of the missing family. Ballistic evidence was found and integrated into the ongoing investigation.
