The Undersecretary for Prevention of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Esthela Damían Peralta, along with the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar, led the Peace Day in the city of Tijuana. At the event, the state leader highlighted the work of crime prevention and the focus on the causes that generate violence in the region.
In her intervention, Damían Peralta explained that the brigades are carrying out awareness-raising work on addiction prevention, especially regarding fentanyl, and how it can affect the lives of young people. Building peace is a daily task, she noted, following the guidelines of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to eradicate violence in all its forms.
During the period from December 3, 2024, to January 27, 2025, 16 peace territories have been established in the State of Mexico, Baja California, and Tabasco. More than 138,000 diverse services have been offered at the Peace Fairs, and 42 committees have been formed in these entities.
The cooperation and support of Governor Marina del Pilar in these initiatives were emphasized. The territorial approach and direct attention to the causes of violence are central to the work carried out by the brigade team.
The importance of interacting with residents of the visited areas and paying special attention to the needs of each individual, providing support, programs, and services in a personalized manner was highlighted.
During the Peace Days, assistance has been provided to over 21,000 people in the three entities, reaffirming the commitment to promote dialogue, reflection, and action in favor of a culture of peace, justice, and the consolidation of strong institutions.
