Tijuana Mayor Discusses Expansion of Federal Housing Program

Within the national housing drive led by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the mayor of Tijuana, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, held a working meeting with federal deputy Alfonso Ramírez Cuéllar. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen institutional coordination and expand the benefits of the federal program in favor of Tijuana families. During the encounter, both authorities highlighted the importance of the Well-being Housing Program, promoted by the Government of Mexico under the leadership of President Claudia Sheinbaum, which aims to guarantee access to dignified and affordable housing, especially for young people and low-income families. In this context, Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz emphasized that the Tijuana Municipal Government maintains close coordination with the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (Sedatu), headed by Edna Vega Rangel, to contribute to the achievement of the national goal of 1.8 million homes, one of the main social bets promoted by President Sheinbaum. Meanwhile, Deputy Alfonso Ramírez Cuéllar recognized the willingness of the XXV Ayuntamiento of Tijuana to join this national strategy, aimed at reducing the housing backlog and improving the living conditions of thousands of families. Finally, the municipal government reiterated its commitment to continue working in coordination with the Government of Mexico, the State Government, and the Legislative Power, in tune with the national housing policy promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, to generate greater opportunities for well-being and social development.
