President Claudia Sheinbaum presented the Comprehensive Plan for the East of the State of Mexico in Tlalnepantla, which foresees an investment of more than 13.5 billion pesos in urban, hydraulic, educational, mobility, ecological, security, and health infrastructure projects during this year in the 10 municipalities of the East of the Valley of Mexico. The total investment is expected to reach more than 40 billion pesos throughout her administration with the goal of transforming the situation of poverty and marginalization in the area, inhabited daily by 10 million people from various municipalities.
In the context of this announcement, the governor mentioned that the program, also known as "Love is returned with love," will focus its efforts on improving services such as drinking water and drainage, aiming to reduce issues like flooding. The priority will be worked on collaboratively by the three levels of government.
During the event, Sheinbaum and Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez delivered 1,600 cards from the Housing Improvement Program for Wellbeing, each worth 40,000 pesos, with the promise of reaching up to 100,000 families in the Eastern Zone of the state by 2025, with a total investment of 4 billion pesos.
In terms of health, the construction of various specialized medical centers and hospitals in different municipalities is planned, as well as the implementation of new programs and services to improve citizen care. In education, the creation of new educational institutions and the expansion of programs aimed at increasing coverage and quality of education are planned. In public transport, updates and improvements to existing infrastructures will be carried out to facilitate the mobility of the region’s inhabitants.
The program also includes significant measures in areas such as urban lighting, public safety, and coordination among the different levels of government at the state, municipal, and federal levels to work together on the implementation of works and projects in the region. This initiative is part of a series of actions and visits carried out by Sheinbaum and Gómez Álvarez in recent days to various places in the State of Mexico, including inspections of works and the inauguration of new health and educational centers.
