President Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized that the governments of Morena must be examples of honesty and integrity, without privileges or luxuries. Sheinbaum led a rally in Tlalnepantla alongside Governor Delfina Gómez, where she announced the implementation of a single police command in 10 municipalities in the eastern part of the State of Mexico as part of a comprehensive plan.
In her speech, Sheinbaum highlighted the importance of the Morena members always being close to the people and free from privileges. She emphasized that honesty and closeness to the population are essential characteristics of a ruler of the Fourth Transformation. Additionally, she stressed the need to follow rules to curb practices such as early campaigning, nepotism, and any type of luxury.
The president mentioned that police coordination through a single command among municipal and state police, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the National Guard, and the attorney generals aims to increase security in the region. She also highlighted the growth of the Mexican economy in contrast to the reduction of the economy in the United States in the first quarter.
Sheinbaum called on citizens to participate in the judicial election on June 1, where judges, magistrates, and ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation will be elected. She rejected accusations of authoritarianism against her government, arguing that with this election, not only the Executive and Legislative powers are elected but also the Judicial.
