At the Toluca Bus Terminal in the State of Mexico, the death of María Isabel 'N', a 48-year-old woman who had recently returned from the United States, was reported. The tragedy occurred on the morning of Monday, May 5, when María Isabel and her cousin were waiting in the waiting area to head to Coatepec Harinas, their hometown.
According to initial reports, María Isabel began to feel unwell while waiting next to her cousin, and her health quickly deteriorated. Despite seeking help, the woman unfortunately passed away within minutes. Paramedics from the State of Mexico Emergency Service (SUEM) confirmed her death upon arriving at the scene in the Valle Verde neighborhood of Toluca.
In a video that leaked about the incident, the environment with the women's belongings and the presence of a white sheet covering the deceased person could be seen. Additionally, distressed people and security personnel present at the scene were observed. The State Police arrived to cordon off the area, while experts from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) began investigations to clarify the circumstances of the death.
According to collected testimonies, it is believed that the woman may have suffered a heart attack or a respiratory arrest. Witnesses reported that María Isabel communicated her sudden discomfort to her companion while waiting for the transport unit. Despite efforts to seek help, the woman unfortunately lost her life in the waiting area of the Toluca Bus Terminal.
