
The State of Mexico is experiencing cold days accompanied by poor air quality in some municipalities this Wednesday, November 13. According to the air quality page of the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Toluca, it was reported at 1:00 PM that air quality was poor, with 101 particles less than 10 microns in the Calimaya station. In other stations such as Ixtlahuaca, Temoaya, Almoloya de Juárez, Toluca Center, Metepec, and Xaltlaco, air quality was considered moderate with particles less than 2.5 microns.
The recommendations issued by the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred) in light of this situation include avoiding outdoor physical activities between 5:00 AM and 12:00 PM, keeping children and elderly people indoors, checking for possible gas leaks in household appliances, and consuming foods such as citrus fruits, vegetables, and nuts to prevent respiratory illnesses that may be aggravated by air pollutants.
Regarding the weather in the State of Mexico this Wednesday, November 13, cold to very cold conditions are recorded in high areas with the presence of fog banks, although mild weather is expected during the afternoon, contributing to poor air quality in some areas. Temperatures will range from 8 to 10 degrees minimum and between 21 and 23 degrees maximum. For Thursday, November 14, a cold to very cold environment is expected at dawn in mountainous areas, with a mild afternoon, partially cloudy skies, and no rain in the Valley of Mexico.
