NASCAR México is used to this type of challenge; it's part of what we constantly do. Besides the race, will there be a different show for fans? Yes, that's something that elevates the event a lot. It will be a very special event, with the quality seal that all NASCAR international competitions have. It's a unique event: you can practically arrive at the airport, enjoy the race, the air show, and also everything the region offers, like Tulum. There will even be goggles and people from abroad observing Mexican talent. How do these events impact the growth of the category? We believe that NASCAR México has no ceiling. Many of our drivers have already competed abroad and have demonstrated their quality. This type of event helps to position the category, attract more public, and also to boost the drivers. Finally, what would you say to people so they don't miss this race? Take advantage of the opportunity. We know we will bring a great show to a region where we have never been, specifically in Tulum. We have been planning this since last year and it was finalized at the beginning of this one. In an interview with Publimetro, Jimmy Morales, general director of the category, details the challenges, the magnitude of the project, and the impact that a race that promises to mix speed, spectacle, and international projection could have on April 25 and 26. What feelings does it leave you to lead such a different event as the NASCAR Tulum 100? We are very happy. NASCAR is suitable for it due to its format, and the experience for the fan is very complete because they don't miss any detail of what happens on the track. We will have a complete air show with the Mexican Air Force: parachutists, aerobatic planes, and different exhibitions throughout the day. We hope that other promoters and states dare to replicate it. What competitive level will we see in this race? Very high. We want to demonstrate that high-quality events can be held without needing a racetrack. We want the world to see the level that Mexico has in motorsports. The NASCAR Mexico Series is ready to break the mold with one of the most atypical and ambitious events in its recent history. It's something that has never been seen in Mexico within a race and will undoubtedly make the experience unique. Can this type of format be replicated in other parts of the country? We hope so. We will have three categories and very experienced drivers, in addition to international presence. The NASCAR Tulum 100 will not only mark a new date on the 2026 calendar, but it will also bring the adrenaline of motorsports to an unconventional setting: Tulum International Airport, turning the race into an unprecedented show. Behind this bet is the intention to transform the fan experience and position Mexico as a benchmark in the organization of innovative sporting events. The public will be the big beneficiary, because they will see a very exciting race that everyone wants to win. What were the main challenges of organizing a race inside an airport? It has been a significant challenge. We are always looking to grow and offer better shows. You have to build a track practically from scratch in a few days, in addition to setting up all the infrastructure: stands, security, accesses, everything to receive thousands of fans.
