In Mexico, Grecia Quiroz has been sworn in as the new mayor of Uruapan. Quiroz, the widow of former mayor Carlos Manzo, who was assassinated on Saturday, took the oath of office and assumed his position. She attended the ceremony with extreme security. Quiroz stated that she will not remain silent about the perpetrators and will continue her husband's legacy. She also noted that no one heeded the warnings about the threats to her husband's life. In response, the governor of Michoacán has initiated a dialogue with the mayor and 59 other municipal presidents. Protests demanding justice in Manzo's case are also continuing in the country.
