The Attorney General of Justice of Michoacán, Carlos Torres Piña, reported on Thursday morning the identification of the material author of the murder of Carlos Manzo, former mayor of Uruapan, who was killed on Saturday. The victim was 17 years old. The body of Víctor Manuel Ubaldo Vídales was claimed by his family, which recognized the absence of the material author for a week before the events. Vídales is believed to be from and a resident of the community of Paracho, Michoacán. «It is important to reiterate that the expert examinations performed on Víctor Manuel's body, particularly the sodium rodizonate test, were positive, confirming the hypothesis of material authorship,» the prosecutor stated. The family also confirmed the minor's addiction to methamphetamine. Regarding the investigation's progress, the prosecutor highlighted that it has been determined that «more than two people participated in the events and that the homicide is linked to organized crime groups».
