Democracy is stronger when citizens exercise their rights freely, but without allowing petty interests to capture their causes. This was stated by Senator Emmanuel Reyes Carmona, commenting on today's march.
He also rejected the use of the name of former Uruapan Mayor Carlos Manzo as a 'tactical slogan,' a situation that he believes diminishes the genuine cause of the demonstration.
Today, during a march with the cause of 'the bad government of the 4T,' the senator affirmed that young people have the right to express themselves and participate in public life.
'Using Carlos Manzo's name only as a tactical slogan is reducing his cause to a simple political slogan of simulation. This struggle is due to seven years of government without results in key areas, mainly in security. His voice is necessary because his participation strengthens democracy, and his critical gaze is indispensable for continuing to transform the country,' the legislator said.
However, he pointed to the interference of the opposition in said march, stating that it does not strengthen 'the struggle of the root cause.'
Morena Senator Emmanuel Reyes Carmona promoted the march of Generation Z, which has been discredited by President Claudia Sheinbaum and the 4T. He is the substitute senator for Marcelo Ebrard.
It should be recalled that Reyes Carmona entered the Senate when Ebrard Casaubón took over the Secretariat of Economy in the federal cabinet.
'The young people who are marching today, and will continue to march, are exercising their fundamental rights and are not doing anything improper. Because causes, when they are genuine, are born from freedom, because freedom is not delegated,' he concluded.
