The secretary stated that Víctor Manuel Ubaldo Vidales and Fernando Josué Leal Aceves, other individuals involved in the crime, who are also deceased, were subjected to and forced to commit these offenses through torture and punishments by criminal leaders. With this arrest, the investigation into the murder of Carlos Manzo is deepening again following the arrest of the alleged mastermind of the assassination, Jorge Armando 'N', also known as 'El Lic', one of the most important leaders of the four-letter cartel in Michoacán. This aligns with the initial investigations of the crime because Víctor Manuel Ubaldo Vidales—the young man who fired the seven shots that took the mayor's life—was addicted to methamphetamine in the city of Paracho, almost 40 kilometers from Uruapan. The investigations into this crime that shook Mexico once again reveal the reach and power that organized crime has in different states. In addition to being the murder of a politically significant man in Michoacán due to his policies to combat drug cartels, the arrest of Jaciel Antonio 'N' highlights the brutality of forced recruitment carried out by these different criminal groups to commit their crimes. According to García Harfuch, who gave several interviews this Monday, Jaciel Antonio 'N' was dedicated to recruiting young people in vulnerable situations to sell drugs and commit crimes on behalf of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. The murder of the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, had such a strong impact on the national government that the authorities are still working to unravel the intellectual responsibilities of the crime. In this context, this Monday the Secretary of Security, Omar García Harfuch, announced the arrest of Jaciel Antonio 'N', who is accused of having recruited the young Víctor Manuel Ubaldo Vidales to assassinate the mayor. Through social media, the Secretary of Security confirmed that, as a result of an operation coordinated with local and federal authorities, the Security Cabinet that commands the Plan Michoacán for Peace and Justice managed to arrest Jaciel Antonio 'N', who is accused of having recruited at least two people who would have been involved in the murder of the mayor of Uruapan. Additionally, last Friday, seven members of the mayor's security detail were arrested, who are believed to have been accomplices in the murder.
