Authorities have reported the detention of Luis Felipe “N” for his alleged involvement in the aggravated kidnapping and murder of Maritza E., as well as the kidnapping of her two minor daughters.

The criminal acts occurred on November 24 in the city of Uruapan, Michoacán, and the capture was confirmed this Thursday, December 11, in the state of Nuevo León.

Authorities of Nuevo León located and apprehended the suspect, against whom an arrest warrant had been issued by a Control Judge.

According to the data gathered in the Investigation File, on November 24, the detainee held the two girls captive and, by threatening them with a firearm, forced their mother, Maritza E., to go to the house where they were being held.

Subsequently, the suspect shot the woman, causing an injury that led to her death.

Her body was located on November 29 in Uruapan.

The above became known to the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Uruapan, which integrated the Investigation File and, after gathering evidence of the possible participation of Luis Felipe “N”, requested the respective arrest warrant, which was granted by a judge.

This Thursday, in a coordinated operation with the Attorney General's Office of Nuevo León and the Michoacán Public Security Secretariat (SSP), Luis Felipe “N” was detained in that entity.

He will be transferred to Uruapan and made available to the Control Judge who requests him, so that his legal situation can be resolved.

During the operation, both girls were located safe and sound, and remain under the protection of the authorities of Nuevo León while their restitution to their family members is carried out.

The Michoacán Prosecutor's Office had offered a reward for the capture of this individual, but it was reported that this offer would be voided due to the manner in which the detention was achieved.
