Preparations for 2025 Elections in Veracruz

In the 2025 elections in Veracruz, the deadline for political parties to submit their request for an alliance expires on February 2. The president of the PRI, Alejandro Moreno, has mentioned that they are considering the possibility of forming a coalition with the PAN. They have regional meetings with groups like the Yunes and Guzmán PAN in search of unity to build together.

Alejandro Moreno assured that the alliance is attractive for the party because it makes them more competitive, but an evaluation will also be made on the advisability of forming a coalition with the PAN. Jorge Romero, leader of the PAN, committed to meeting with local leaders to gather their opinions on the possible alliance, although he mentioned that they find it difficult.

Regarding the negotiations between the PRI and the PAN, Moreno mentioned that they have already had discussions to form the alliance in the municipal elections of Veracruz and Durango. On the other hand, Romero denied that there are conversations with the PRI for a coalition in 2025, mentioning that some guidelines are still pending to be defined.

It is expected that on June 1, the electoral day will take place in Veracruz and Durango to elect a total of 1458 positions, including municipal presidencies, syndicates, and councilors in both states. The date coincides with the election of the Judiciary at the national level, organized by the INE. Although discussions are ongoing, no alliance has been confirmed or ruled out at this time.
