Controversy Surrounds Yunes Márquez's Affiliation with Morena

The governor of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle García, expressed her disagreement with the affiliation of Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez to the Morena party. Nahle García requested the Commission of Honesty and Justice of Morena not to accredit Yunes Márquez's membership in the party, arguing that he does not represent or adhere to the principles of the regeneration movement.

In her protest, Nahle García emphasized that the militants of Veracruz deserve respect and added that she will formally request the party president, Luisa María Alcalde, her disagreement with Yunes Márquez's affiliation. The state governor assured that she has evidence related to a supposed implication of Yunes Márquez in money laundering activities and other crimes, documents that would support her stance.

In response to this situation, the national president of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde Luján, indicated that the registration request of Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez will be evaluated by the National Commission of Honesty and Justice of the party according to the current statutes, in order to make a decision regarding this matter.

Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez formalized his affiliation with Morena accompanied by the president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, and the coordinator Adán Augusto López Hernández. During this event, Yunes Márquez expressed his support for the Presidency of the Republic and pointed out the importance of working together for the benefit of Mexico and, particularly, Veracruz.
