Miguel Ángel Yunes Defends His Political Aspirations

Former senator Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez responded to the criticisms of Marko Cortés, former president of the PAN, who expelled him from the party. Yunes labeled Cortés as "mediocre" and "poor devil," showing indifference to his words. Furthermore, he stated that the people who support him will be free to choose to support the party they prefer in the upcoming elections.

Yunes lamented the unfounded accusations against him after requesting his affiliation with Morena. He expressed his willingness to dialogue with the governor of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle, despite doubting that a meeting will take place. The politician mentioned that the Yunes family contributed nearly 7 million votes to the PAN and thanked the blue and white supporters who have backed him in his political career.

Regarding the money laundering accusations, Yunes called any allegation against him "absolutely false" and pointed out that, while he awaits the evidence against him with calm, his affiliation with Morena is not intended to generate conflicts.

The former senator justified his affiliation with Morena by arguing that it is a decision consistent with his vote in favor of the reform of the Judiciary, which provided a qualified majority to the ruling parliamentary group. Despite the opposing stance of the governor of Veracruz and not being well regarded by some leaders, Yunes stated that he will continue his political activity in his home state, where he has held various public positions.
