
In Veracruz, a man known as P.S.V. was arrested after it was discovered that he was in possession of the cell phone of activist Sandra Estefana Domínguez Martínez, who has been missing along with her husband Alexander Hernández Hernández since October 4th. The last time the couple was seen was in the town of María Lombardo, in the region of the Papaloapan Basin.
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Oaxaca (FGEO) reported that the individual's detention was carried out with the collaboration of the authorities in Veracruz, as it was in that state where the signal of the activist's cell phone was tracked. According to the Attorney's Office, a georeferenced point was obtained in the locality of Nigromante, in the municipality of Playa Vicente, Veracruz, which would be related to the disappearance of the victims.
Regarding the investigation, it is expected to determine whether the detained man has any responsibility in the disappearance of the couple in the border area between Oaxaca and Veracruz. The man was made available to the relevant authorities to advance in the case and define his legal situation. In addition, Sandra Estefana Domínguez Martínez's cell phone was also handed over to the Oaxaca Attorney's Office for forensic analysis in search of digital data that may help find the victims.
The operation that led to P.S.V.’s arrest involved elements of the State Investigation Agency (AEI), the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena), the National Guard, the Public Security Secretariat of Veracruz, and the Attorney General's Office of Veracruz.
