In Guanajuato, Candelaria 'N', a 40-year-old woman, was arrested and identified as being close to José Antonio Yepes Ortiz, alias 'El Marro', former leader of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel (CSRL). Authorities consider her a high-profile criminal target, marking her as a generator of violence and linked to crimes such as kidnapping, extortion, and racketeering. Her connection to an inmate at the State Center for Prevention and Social Reintegration (Ceprereso) in León is being investigated, suspecting she leaked information to the CSRL to plan attacks against the police in Guanajuato. Candelaria 'N' was arrested in the community of Santa Rosa de Lima, in Villagrán, the main stronghold of 'El Marro'.
Authorities reported that the arrest of Candelaria 'N' was carried out by elements from several security institutions, such as the Secretariat of Security and Peace of Guanajuato, the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the Secretariat of Navy (Semar), the Attorney General's Office (FGR), the National Guard (GN), and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC). It was made possible through intelligence work and information exchange among the involved agencies. The woman was located in Santa Rosa de Lima and made available to the relevant Public Prosecutor's Office to determine her legal situation.
In other operations against collaborators of 'El Marro', on January 30, 2025, Luis 'N', nicknamed 'El Pizzero', was arrested, identified as the plaza chief of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel in the Laja-Bajío area and responsible for crimes such as kidnapping, extortion, homicide, and robbery. The arrest took place in the community of Santa Rosa de Lima, municipality of Villagrán. Additionally, on February 4, 2025, Esmeralda 'N', girlfriend of Luis Antonio Yepes Cervantes, alias 'El Marrito', son of 'El Marro', was arrested in the municipality of Valle de Santiago along with four other members of a criminal cell of the CSRL. Esmeralda 'N' faces charges for possession of a firearm, possession of exclusive-use cartridges for the Armed Forces, illegal deprivation of liberty, and drug-related offenses.
Subsequently, on February 10, 2025, Leonel 'N', alias 'El Gordo de Zempoala', was arrested in Querétaro. He was identified as the leader of the criminal cell to which 'El Marrito's' girlfriend belonged.
