
The National Guard activated the Population Aid Plan in Zacatecas after a passenger bus overturned on the Aguascalientes-Zacatecas highway due to a traffic incident. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Zacatecas (FGJEZ) completed the legal-medical studies of the 19 people who died in the accident, except for two victims who are still pending identification.
The General Directorate of Forensic Services carried out the forensic process, allowing the identification of 17 of the victims through the passenger list provided by the bus company, Omnibus de México. Authorities reported that the cause of the accident was a cargo truck that collided with the bus, whose driver fled the scene.
The company Omnibus de México expressed regret over the incident and blamed the cargo vehicle for the tragedy, mentioning that the other driver fled the scene. They expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and highlighted their commitment to cooperate with state and federal authorities to assist the affected families.
