A Zacatecas teacher admitted to creating a fake image showing him receiving a kiss from President Claudia Sheinbaum. Víctor Hugo Montoya, who goes by Pitacoche Montoya on social media, posted the AI-generated image after the president confirmed the authenticity of a video of a woman sunbathing in a window of the National Palace. The government had initially claimed the video was a deepfake. Montoya, who originally filmed the viral video of the woman, defended his post, stating it contradicts the official narrative. He said, “That cannot be AI in any way. If someone did something inappropriate at the National Palace and even if they weren’t sanctioned, they should make it public! They are disrespecting themselves by lying so blatantly when it was one of the things they promised in their campaign: not to lie, not to steal, not to betray. There is always someone who knows and is willing to support. They are absurdly lying. Don’t start with your stupid jealousy. They gave the issue an improper treatment.” Meanwhile, during her morning press conference on Monday, March 30, President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the person in the window was real. Initially, the relevant area asked the area where this window is located and they reported that no, no one had ever gone out to sunbathe; later they reviewed it and it turned out that yes, there had been a person who had sat in the window that day. Furthermore, she pointed out that there is no regulation prohibiting sunbathing in the window of the National Palace, although she stressed the need to maintain respect for the historical and heritage value of the building. “But it must be said that it is not prohibited, there is no regulation in the National Palace that says you cannot go out to sunbathe in the window,” the head of state admitted. So far, the identity of the woman in the window has not been officially confirmed. However, different theories have emerged on social media. Other users have suggested it could be Annie Pardo, the president's mother, but this version has also not been officially treated. “It would have been so easy to just accept it,” Montoya said of his new post. The 47-year-old Zacatecas teacher, a member of Section 34 of the CNTE, published on his social networks an image generated with artificial intelligence in which he appears alongside President Claudia Sheinbaum, receiving a kiss on the left cheek from the head of state. Regarding his new publication, Montoya explained that this one was indeed generated with Artificial Intelligence and joked about a non-existent visit to Zacatecas by the president with him. “This one is AI.”
