Historic Victory in Jalisco Elections

In the 2015 Jalisco elections, Pedro Kumamoto made history by winning as an independent deputy in Zapopan. His campaign was notably low-cost, emphasizing justice and equality in government.

Historic Victory in Jalisco Elections

Pedro Kumamoto became the first independent local deputy in Jalisco elected in 2015, obtaining more than 50,000 votes, surpassing all participating political parties. He won in District 10 with just 250,000 pesos invested in his campaign, 20% of the permitted limit, making him a historical phenomenon in the region.

In October 2024, he congratulated President Claudia Sheinbaum on her inauguration. Despite losing the election for mayor of Zapopan, it is speculated that Kumamoto could join the federal government in some second-tier position. His party, Futuro, joined Morena in the race for the mayoralty of Zapopan, evidencing his participation and support for the party.

Kumamoto also revealed his intention to run for a seat in the Senate in 2017, after his successful tenure as a deputy. Additionally, he was previously part of Wikipolítica Jalisco, a nonpartisan organization. Although he did not reach the Senate in 2018, finishing in third place with 761,812 votes, he remains a prominent figure in Mexican politics.

With a bachelor's degree in Cultural Management from ITESO and a master's degree in Public Policies from UCL, Kumamoto stands out for his commitment to justice, equity, and shared prosperity for all Mexicans, marking the beginning of an administration oriented towards those values.
