OMA Airports Achieve Level 3 Carbon Accreditation

The 13 airports of OMA have received Level 3 'Optimization' accreditation, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable management and carbon emissions reduction in the airport industry.

OMA Airports Achieve Level 3 Carbon Accreditation

The Centro Norte Airport Group (OMA) achieved Level 3 "Optimization" accreditation from the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Program at its 13 airports. With this achievement, OMA consolidates its leadership in sustainable management and reaffirms its commitment to reducing carbon emissions, in line with Vinci Airports' environmental strategy.

The process to obtain this accreditation began two years ago with Level 1 accreditation at all airports. Since then, OMA has continuously worked on implementing environmental mitigation strategies, evolving from mapping and reducing its carbon footprint to a phase of optimization in emissions management, both in controlled activities and those undertaken by business partners, airlines, and other key players.

Ricardo Dueñas, OMA’s General Director, highlighted: "This recognition reflects OMA’s effort and vision to transform airport management with a sustainable approach. We have not only optimized our operations but also engaged our business partners and airlines in implementing strategies that create a positive impact on the environment."

The ACA program, designed by Airports Council International (ACI), is the only global standard that evaluates carbon emissions management at airports. OMA will continue to strengthen its sustainability strategy through investments in efficient infrastructure, implementation of renewable energies, and promoting responsible practices among all stakeholders involved at its airports.

"We will continue to move forward with determination to consolidate our leadership in sustainability within the airport sector in line with our goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050," concluded OMA.
