The deadline for the payment of the 2025 Renewal Fee and Vehicle Tax in Mexico City (CDMX) and the State of Mexico (Edomex) is approaching. Vehicle owners who wish to access the vehicle tax subsidy must meet certain requirements and make the payment before March 31, 2025.
To obtain the subsidy, taxpayers must pay the 2025 Renewal Fee within the established deadline and comply with the following conditions:
In CDMX, the requirements include being a natural or legal person without profit motives, that the vehicle's value does not exceed $250,000 pesos (including VAT), having no outstanding previous vehicle taxes, and having a valid circulation card or paying for its renewal.
Meanwhile, in Edomex, the requirements apply to vehicles valued up to $550,000 pesos (excluding VAT) or motorcycles up to $115,000 pesos (excluding VAT), having no outstanding previous vehicle taxes, and having valid plates.
Taxpayers can make the payment online or in person at various authorized establishments. In CDMX, the payment options include the portal of the Secretary of Administration and Finance, the CDMX Treasury app, and establishments like Oxxo, Walmart, Suburbia, Farmacias del Ahorro, Treasury kiosks, and participating banks.
In Edomex, payments can be made through the Taxpayer Services portal, the direct site for vehicle tax payment, Integral Tax Collection Modules, banks, and self-service stores.
If the payment of the 2025 Renewal Fee is not made before March 31, owners will lose the vehicle tax subsidy and must cover the total amount, calculated based on the vehicle's commercial value. Additionally, non-compliance may result in fines, penalties, and restrictions for executing other vehicle procedures, such as verification or re-registration.
