As of May 6, gas prices in Mexico vary widely across different cities, with the cheapest regular gasoline found at $18.90 per liter in Guerrero and premium at $21.99 in Matamoros.


Gasoline Prices in Mexico: May Updates

This Tuesday, May 6th, Nacional Gasolinero revealed the fuel prices in Mexico. Regular gasoline has an average cost of 23.65 pesos per liter, Premium is at 25.61 pesos per liter, and Diesel is at 26.00 pesos per liter.

The lowest prices in the country for this date are located in various municipalities. For example, the cheapest gasoline is sold in Villahermosa at 22.29 pesos per liter, in Durango at 22.84, in Tijuana at 22.09, in Veracruz at 21.99, in Cuauhtémoc at 22.59, in Ahome at 23.74, and in Pachuca at 21.99 pesos per liter.

In Mexico City, the prices for the same day are as follows: Regular gasoline is at 23.81 pesos per liter, Premium at 25.69 pesos per liter, and Diesel at 25.73 pesos per liter. The cheapest Regular gasoline is sold in Venustiano Carranza at 22.28 pesos per liter, while the most expensive is priced at 26.99 pesos per liter in Tlalpan.

The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) is attentive to any complaints of high prices at gas stations, above those established by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). Consumers can file complaints through the Profeco website or by calling the phone number 55 55 68 87 22.

Despite the drop in international oil prices, fuel prices in Mexico remain high. The cheapest Diesel is found in Venustiano Carranza at 23.72 pesos per liter. It is important to remember that prices cannot exceed those established by the competent authorities.
