The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda, announced that the central section of the Interserrana Highway has become a federal project. Bidding will begin in the coming hours to kickstart the works by the end of the year. The governor thanked the president for making the project federal, the Treasury for registering it, and especially Semarnat for granting the necessary permits. "I want to thank the president for making the project federal, the Treasury for registering it, and above all Semarnat for giving us the permit," the governor stated. The project includes complex sections with tunnels and grade-separated interchanges that are tedious to complete. So far, the state government has not specified the investment amount for the project, while they claim an advancement of over 70% and expect to inaugurate the first two sections by early 2026. "All interested parties, keep an eye on the Official State Gazette, as the bidding will be published in a few hours and we have to start in December," he detailed. The most complex part of the work is the section in the Sierra de Rayones, which is the central connection of the highway and has 0% progress. "So with all of this checked off, we are starting the Interserrana. We did very well, for now the Interserrana is flying."
