Users from various regions reported widespread outages on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram on Tuesday, affecting both their web versions and mobile applications. According to monitoring platforms like Downdetector, the volume of reports increased abruptly in a short period, suggesting a massive disruption to these services.
Sudden surge in reports and types of failures Statistics show that for WhatsApp, reports spiked around noon, reaching high peaks in just a few minutes. Users primarily reported issues with the website (38%), followed by server connection failures (30%) and application errors (25%).
On Facebook, the behavior was similar, with a notable increase in reports in the same time frame. Instagram, for its part, also recorded a significant surge in reports, though with a lower volume compared to the other applications. In this case, the most common failures were concentrated in the mobile app (45%), followed by server connection problems (32%) and login difficulties (13%).
The simultaneity of the failures across the three platforms has led to speculation about a shared technical issue, and users on social media expressed their difficulties with accessing the apps.
"Hey, did WhatsApp go down or is it just me?" one user posted.
This suggests possible difficulties with the infrastructure that supports access to the platforms. So far, there has been no official detailed statement on the causes of the outage.
