The Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT) has started accepting annual tax returns for 2025. The filing period runs from April 1 to April 30. The declaration can be submitted through the SAT portal, which is available 24 hours a day. To simplify the process, several new measures have been implemented, including an informative calendar that shows days with typically lower system traffic. This year, over 11.4 million declarations are expected. Filing a declaration is mandatory for individuals who earned income from professional services, business activities, real estate rental, sale or acquisition of assets, as well as for those receiving interest or dividends. The tax authority also clarified the conditions for filing, noting that it may not be required for some taxpayers under the Resico scheme. On the first day alone, 599,035 declarations were filed. It is important to note that for a tax refund of 10,000 pesos or more, an electronic signature (e.firma) is required. Authorities urge citizens to meet this obligation on time to strengthen the national economy and public welfare.
